Raised by pirate parents, Mayrina loved the constant sailing through the galaxy, meeting new races and exploring planets. Unfortunately the nature of her parents work meant that she couldn't always stay in these places as long as she liked.

When a junior crew position opened up on a research ship, she jumped at the chance. Her adolescence was spent working her way up the ranks until she was assistant to Murphy Odger, the head scientist. Under his mentorship, she trained to be a scientist in her own right, eventually earning enough to get her own ship and set off on her own.

Knowledge is its own reward but being respected is nice. Once you gather a total of 1000 Data across Research Missions, you are awarded the prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award and have all of your Food, Fuel, and Docking paid for you while you have an active Research Mission.

An expert at camouflage, the shy rephoill are very adept at hiding from predators. Their colour-changing skin also makes them popular performers due to the spectacular spectrum they can display on their ‘wings.’

Females of the species constantly produce roe. The unfertilised eggs are a common - and very nutrient rich - delicacy across the known universe.

Yan’ie are a helium based lifeforms which communicate through a multicoloured display of bioluminescent pulses through their body. They are spherical in shape with frilled flagellum, similar in appearance to an Earth axolotl’s gills, which they use to ‘swim’ through the air.

While this asexual creature has a name in it’s own language, those who communicate vocally, refer to this crewmate as Iri - short for Iridescent in reference to the way it changes colour.

This creature is fully adapted to the harsh, desert conditions of the planet Ruin. It’s large ears help with thermal regulation and it sharp claws are ideal for digging.

A creature in his adolescent years, Kitsos thinks that he knows best, and often annoys his crewmates by criticising their work. If not for his unparalleled experience in intergalactic bureaucracy, he probably would have been kicked off the ship cycles ago.
